Homework

First graders are asked to spend an average of 10-15 minutes with homework per night as an extension of their school day. Types of homework activities typically assigned are reading (60-minutes per week and practicing phonics patterns and high frequency words) and math activities (math facts and playing math games).

Students engage in Health and Personal Management education through locally developed standards. 

Homework

Second graders are asked to spend an average of 20-30 minutes with homework per night as an extension of their school day. Types of homework activities typically assigned are 10-15 minutes of oral reading and/or independent silent reading and 10-15 minutes of math skills.

Students engage in Health and Personal Management education through locally developed standards. 

Homework

Third graders are asked to spend an average of 30 minutes with homework per night as an extension of their school day. Types of homework activities typically assigned are a weekly reading and math fact log. The expectation is that students read a minimum of 120 minutes each week and practice math 5-10 minutes each day.

Students at Delano High School are required to earn a specific amount of credits to meet our graduation requirements. With our schedule redesign, each grad year has a different amount of final credits required (see below). Classes of 2027 and beyond will all have the same amount of credits required (per the schedule redesign). Credits are accumulated in grades 9-12.
