Back to School 2025

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! We will continue to send out communications to support a successful start to the school year, so we recommend checking your email weekly during the month of August. Please read through the information below and complete the necessary tasks and paperwork needed for your child.

Annual School Paperwork

  • Returning families in grades 1-3, may log in to Skyward Family Access to complete the annual school year paperwork. This must be completed in order to view your child’s classroom teacher, which will be released later in August.
  • New families and incoming kindergarten students, do not need to go into Skyward and complete paperwork because you have already completed the paperwork upon registration.

Learning who your child's teacher is
We know that learning who your child’s teacher will be for the upcoming year is exciting and very important. Teacher information will be available through Skyward the week of August 18. We will send out another communication when that information is accessible.

Orientation Dates
Elementary Orientation Days are held on Sept. 2 and 3 between 7:30-3:30 p.m.. Information regarding signing up and what to expect will be sent when homeroom teacher information is shared.

Early Release Dates
This year, there will be a two-hour early release of students on the third Wednesday of each month. Please refer to the district calendar for these dates.

School Meals
Our food service program allows all students to get one free breakfast and one free lunch while at school. DES does not offer a second lunch option for students.

Bus Information
Transportation information will be available for your students the week of August 25 via Skyward Family Access. For questions regarding busing, please call Stahlke Bus Companyt at 763-972-3991.

School Supplies
Click here for the 2025-26 school supply list and the option to purchase through School Tool Box. Students should bring their school supplies to their orientation day.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Sincerely,

Rachel Schultz, Principal
